Maintenance Worker – CLOSED

Sacred Heart Church of Patterson is now accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker.  This position provides the safety, maintenance and custodial care for all the parish buildings and grounds.  The Employment Application and job description can be found on the parish website www.sacredheartpatterson.org. PRESCHOOL POSITIONS

(Morning Aide)

The morning aide will be responsible for working alongside the Preschool Director and staff to provide a safe, successful, and supervised environment to foster the child’s development and spirituality. The morning aide is responsible for food preparation, interacting with children, and assisting the Director. Daily duties to ensure a clean environment are also a part of the job description. Anticipated hours for this position are M-F, 7:45 AM-1:30 PM.

Requirements for applying: -Experience with children -Must have a minimum of 6 units in Early Childhood Education -Earning a CTC Child Development Permit

(Afternoon teacher)

The afternoon teacher will be responsible for working alongside the Preschool Director and aide to provide a safe, successful, and supervised environment to foster the child’s development and spirituality. The afternoon teacher is responsible for implementing activities to engage the whole child. Daily duties will also include general housekeeping to ensure a clean environment. Anticipated hours for this position are M-F, 1:45 PM-6:00 PM. Job begins August 1, 2018.

Facility Coordinator (Non-Exempt)

  1. POSITION PURPOSE

This position directly provides the operational functions of Lopes Orchards De Paul Center (LODPC). To coordinate a variety of tasks relating to the use, maintenance and renting of LODPC and assure compliance with local, state and federal laws/regulations along with diocesan rules, regulations and policies.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Primary assistance in the day to day operation and maintenance of LODPC
  2. Maintains facility calendar and scheduling of all LODPC events.
  3. Works with ALL interested parties as needed for events.
  4. Responds to all use/rental inquiries in a timely, effective and proactive manner.
  5. Schedules and/or provide facility tours upon request.
  6. Completes and/or obtains required use/renter contract(s) and/or documentation prior to event. Has general understanding of booking principles.
  7. Assists LODPC and Parish personnel/volunteers to sets up for events (e. g. chairs, tables and other event requirements).
  8. Works with the LODPC Facility Coordinator Assistant to ensure facility is in good condition and stocked with necessary supplies.
  9. Works with the LODPC Facility Coordinator Assistant to ensure the maintenance and grounds are in good and clean condition.
  10. Supervises rental use of LODPC by third parties. Employee is present or assures a representative is present during time the facility is rented to ensure its proper care by tenants.
  11. Assures that the building is secure when not in use.
  12. Attends and reports to the Sacred Heart Parish Finance Council, LODPC Board and Parish staff meetings as requested.
  13. Completes online Food Service Safety Certification.
  14. Performs all other jobs as assigned.

III.     EXPECTED QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  3. Successful work experience in event, planning and coordination, including rental/event and vendor contract administration.

Facility Coordinator Assistant (Non-Exempt)

 I. POSITION PURPOSE

This position provides for safety and maintenance/custodial care for Lopes Orchards De Paul Center (LODPC) buildings and grounds and assisting the Facility Coordinator as needed.

II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs preventive inspections to buildings and grounds for plumbing, mechanical, electrical, heating and air conditioning system failures. Contacts approved service or repair agency if needed and oversees successful completion of work within budget.
  2.  Sets up for special events (e.g., chairs, tables and other equipment for special events); hauls and removes items as requested.
  3. Assures the collection and disposal of trash and garbage.
  4. Maintains an inventory of all maintenance/janitorial supplies necessary for LODPC.
  5. Assures LODPC is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.  The employee dust mops and vacuums floors, cleans bathrooms and washes windows if needed.
  6. Assures LODPC grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner.  The employee oversees the care of the grounds by a third party. Blows litter from walkways, weeds, sprays weeds and oversees sprinkler system as needed.
  7. Performs minor maintenance on LODPC building.  The employee accomplishes this by doing light carpentry work and minor repair work on the facility as needed.
  8. Assures the facility is clean after events and that it is ready for use.
  9. Collects and removes litter from the grounds on a daily basis.
  10. Evaluates grounds and makes recommendations for repairs and/or changes to the Facility Coordinator.
  11. Oversees volunteers helping on designated projects for grounds cleanup.
  12. Assists the Facility Coordinator in supervising the rental use of LODPC by third parties. Employee may be required to be present during time the facility is rented to ensure its proper care by tenants.
  13. Completes online Food Service Safety Certification.
  14. Performs all other jobs as assigned.
